GOKOO CHEF KNIFE KUROUCHI CARBON STEEL 210MM Wa-Gyuto Chef knife from Gokoo. 
Gokoo is a small artisan knife smith from Chiba, just east of Tokyo.
The knife master Mr Yamakawa specialises in handcrafting knives in small batches using traditional methods and knives from Gokoo are listed on Chiba Prefectural Traditional Crafts.
 
Chef knives or Gyuto are definitely the most popular all-rounder widely used in both professional and home kitchens. Japanese chef knives have sleek outline and thinner, tapered blade than European chef knives and have more precise performance.
The blade has rustic, unpolished black “ Kurouchi “ finish thinly tapers out towards the edge.
The White ( Shiro ) 1 high carbon steel core is “ sanmai “ clad with soft iron for shock absorbent.
 
Finely sharpened carbon steel knife gives you great feeling and once you taste it, it is very hard to go back to stainless steel.
The handle is made of burnt Chestnut wood. Chestnut wood is very light , durable and used to be used for railway pillows because of its toughness.
 
Please note that blade is made of high carbon steel and may rust if not maintained accordingly.
Please wash, dry thoroughly and store in dry place after use.
 
Each knife is hand- sharpened prior to shipping for full performance.

    Beautiful knife to use

    This knife is worth every dollar. It is amazingly sharp, able to cut most vegetables with ease. It brings such a joy to cooking while using it. The unique carbon steel is also subtle and more beautiful in person than the pictures show.

    Out of the box super sharp with a nice rustic natural finish, using as main knife at work everyday and love it.the edge sharpens up easily and stays sharp for a long time , feels nice in the hand definitely recommend getting one of these knives Chef Kyle Nicol
