This Wa-Gyuto ( Japanese name for a chef knife ) was handcrafted by our in-house knife master Masaaki Saito here in Brisbane.
Gyuto is a name for Japanese style chef knives.
This knife has a very thinly tapered blade profile for making every cut effortless but still has a solid feel because of the volume at the spine.
The Tsuchime dimples from Masaaki's hammer gives a bit of character and helps food release.
The blade is made of 12C27 stainless steel known for the great edge retention and for its easy maintenance character.
The handle is made of Teak and Mahogany.
The polished Australian hardwood handle is not just beautiful but gives you an amazing grip and comfortable feel.
