This Nakiri knife was handcrafted by our knife master Masaaki Saito here in Aspley, Brisbane.
Nakiri is the traditional Japanese multipurpose knife with rectangular blade shape.
The name “ Na “ can be translated as Vegetables and “ Kiri “ as cut, cutting or cutter.
As the name suggest, it is great for shredding vegetables and wide blade ( 60mm ) really helps the blade flows without forcing.
The straight blade does very clean cutting when used with cutting back and forth motions but when you cut with rocking motions, the pressure escapes as the tip and heel bumps the chopping board and bounce.
The blade is made from Nitro-V stainless steel.

Nitro-V steel has an amazing reputations as blade materials and has great wear resistance, balanced hardness plus easy maintenance.
The bevel starts from high up near the spine to achieve very smooth cutting performances.
The handle is made of Black Mulga and gives you a very warm, comfortable feel when hold.
